Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 Coronavirus Disease in Canada Order (Prohibition of Entry into Canada) Definition of immediate family member 1 In this Order, immediate family member, in respect of a person means (a) the spouse or common-law partner of the person; (b) a dependent child of the person or of the person’s spouse or common-law partner; or (c) a dependent child of a dependent child referred to in paragraph (b). Prohibition 2 Any foreign national, as defined in subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, is prohibited from entering Canada if they arrive by means of an aircraft from a foreign country.
